A new whistleblowing initiative and reporting hotline has been launched in Cyprus. The Cyprus Corruption Watchdog, established by the civil society organisation Foundation FIMOMOI, aims to combat corruption and the mismanagement of public funds
“The Foundation FIMOMOI, following the awareness campaign with training seminars on corruption, lobbying, whistleblower laws and other measures, is now launching Cyprus Corruption Watchdog, a new tool, in order to fight corruption and mismanagement of public funds. The Cyprus Corruption Watchdog will give the opportunity to the citizens to be actively involved in the fight against corruption because corruption is everybody’s business, and we all need to take steps to eliminate it. Soon, we shall hold a meeting with all relevant organizations and citizens who have shown an interest, to discuss the measures that we promoted until now and to plan the next steps and how the Cyprus Watchdog will help eliminate corruption.”
