Lithuania’s Law on Whistleblower Protection, adopted in 2019 and amended in May 2025, introduced a minor improvement
The Law on Whistleblower’s Protection is amended by implementing the Directive (EU) 2024/1226 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 April 2024 on the definition of criminal offences and penalties for the violation of Union restrictive measures and amending Directive (EU) 2018/1673.
It is added that information on violations is provided in relation to violations of international sanctions implemented in the Republic of Lithuania or restrictive measures established by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
